Abstracts (Research)

Survey geologists are actively participating in geologic studies across Pennsylvania as part of the Survey's mission. Findings are reported in official publications, and are also often presented through the Geological Society of America, which was established in 1888.  This organization joins thousands of geoscientists across the United States and around the world.  Each year, national and regional conferences are held. These meetings provide a platform for discussion and presentation of the latest research in all fields of geology.  Pennsylvania Geological Survey staff are typically represented at these meetings.  We are posting recent abstracts and some papers of talks given at these and other conferences that involve the geology of Pennsylvania.  Publications that were developed through other organizations are noted. Also, modifications to the original abstract are shown by brackets (additions) or ellipses (deletions).
